Federal grant funds are available through the state to assist with public road, water, and sanitary sewer improvements specifically benefiting economic development projects. Job creation must be involved, and companies must commit to hiring at least 51 percent of employees from low- to moderate-income populations in the county where the project is located.

Rural Energy for America Program (REAP)
Rural Development is currently accepting applications for the Fiscal Year 2011 Rural Energy for America Program. This program is designed to provide grants and loan guarantees to farmers and rural small for-profit businesses who wish to install energy efficiency improvements or to install renewable energy systems. Renewable energy systems can include solar electric, solar thermal, wind, geothermal, biomass and anaerobic digestion systems. Energy efficiency improvement systems can include lighting improvements, insulation, electric motor replacements and other energy efficiency improvement projects as outlined in the energy audit. Pay for Success Pilot Projects - SGA-DFA-PY-11-13
The Employment and Training Administration (ETA), U.S. Department of Labor, announces the availability of approximately $20 million in Pay for Success grants, funded out of the Workforce Innovation Fund in the Department of Labor Appropriations Act, 2012 (P.L. 112-74, Div. F, Tit. I). The Workforce Innovation Fund supports innovative approaches to the design and delivery of employment and training services that generate long-term improvements in the performance of the public workforce system, both in terms of positive results for job seekers and employers and cost-effectiveness. Grants awarded under this Solicitation for Grant Applications (SGA) will fund pilots of a Pay for Success model, an innovative funding strategy for achieving specific social service outcomes. Ohio Receives $6 Million for Worker Training
These funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act will be used primarily for "green job training" to help Ohioans become employed in the clean energy industry. This grant from the US Department of Labor was applied for and will be administered by the Ohio Governor's Workforce Policy Board.
