Railways

Railroad transportation creates efficiencies in your supply chain by providing more equipment options, greener miles, and often, a lower priced alternative to truck transportation.  Wyandot County is serviced by three different railway companies, CXS Transportation, Wheeling & Lake Railway, and Rail America Lines.

CSX Transportation operates a Class I railroad in the United States known as the CSX Railroad. The company is headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida, and owns approximately 21,000 route miles. CSX operates one of the three Class I railroads serving most of the East Coast.  This railroad also serves the Canadian provinces of Ontario and Quebec.  Visit the CSX home page for more information.

The Wheeling and Lake Erie Railway (W&LE) is a Class II (Regional) railroad. Today the railroad operates as far west as Toledo and Lima, Ohio and as far east as Connellsville, Pennsylvania; and maintains nearly 1,000 miles of track (including trackage rights).  Visit the Wheeling and Lake Erie Railway website for more information.

RailAmerica, Inc. and its consolidated subsidiaries are one of the largest owners and operators of short line and regional freight railroads in North America, operating a portfolio of 43 individual railroads with approximately 7,400 miles of track in 27 U.S. states and three Canadian provinces. The company is headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida.  Visit RailAmerica's home page for more information.
