Northwest Ohio Industrial Contractor Building New 120,000 SF Manufacturing Facility

To meet growing demand in current and future markets, Vaughn Industries has announced plans for a new 120,000 square-foot manufacturing facility in Carey, Ohio. The Northwest Ohio company is recognized as a leading contractor providing electrical, mechanical, high voltage, technology and renewable energy services.

Located in Wyandot County, Vaughn Industries will invest nearly $18.5 million for the new facility, which will bring together its Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) and fabrication processes under one roof. The company expects to add 126 new jobs through this expansion project.

Earlier today, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved a Job Creation Tax Credit for the company.

“We have outgrown our current facilities and need to expand our manufacturing facilities to maintain our current business as well as the future growth of our company,” said John Barnes, business development manager at Vaughn Industries. “The open layout of the new manufacturing facility is critical to ensure efficiency and logistics in all of our fabrication processes.”

According to Barnes, the new facility will allow for added machinery such as a coil line, spiral duct machine, water jet table and uni-strut extruder. This provides the opportunity to manufacture products on site rather than purchasing from outside Ohio, Barnes said.

“Vaughn Industries is a driving force in our community, consistently creating high-quality jobs, offering in-house training and apprenticeship programs, expanding its facilities, and championing local economic development efforts,” said Greg Moon, Executive Director of the Wyandot County Office of Economic Development. “We are thrilled to support their latest project, which will create new production capabilities and contribute to their ongoing local profitable growth.”

Vaughn Industries started more than 60 years ago, having grown to more than 800 employees today. The company has extensive experience in a wide variety of projects and delivery methods, using time-proven practices and modern techniques to construct and deliver for clients. The third-generation company completes more than 650 projects per year.

The company, which has expanded multiple times at its Carey location and also constructed spec buildings to support additional regional growth, credited its workforce and business climate as contributing factors in the decision to invest again in Northwest Ohio.

“The quality of our employees is second to none,” Barnes said. “We strongly believe in creating jobs and bettering the quality of life for our employees and the community.”

Barnes also noted the instrumental support among the economic development partners in efficiently moving the project forward, including the Wyandot County Office of Economic Development, the Regional Growth Partnership and JobsOhio.

“Vaughn Industries is an Ohio-grown company that serves as a prime example of the consistent excellence, ingenuity and adaptability of the state’s manufacturing sector,” said JobsOhio President and CEO J.P. Nauseef. “This new manufacturing facility strengthens Vaughn’s presence in Wyandot County, bringing cutting-edge technology that will bolster its production and meet growing demand for its virtual design and construction solutions for its clients.”

The company expects to break ground in June and begin operations in the second quarter of 2026.
