2019 Business Retention & Expansion Report Published

The 2019 Wyandot County Business Retention & Expansion (BR&E) Final Report is now available via the WCOED website. This year’s report identifies many continuing trends seen in previous years’ data collection efforts.

Of note is that the 42 employers who submitted data for this year’s program added just over 350 new full time employees over the past year, and anticipate the need for more than 1,000 new and replacement employees over the next 5 years. The tightening labor picture has also lead to increased wage competition that can be seen in the average reported starting salaries of both skilled and unskilled workers.

Albeit a tight labor market, Wyandot County businesses still reported recent and continued plans for growth, and an overall positive view of the county as a place to do business.
