The Wyandot Improvement Network (“WIN”), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit entity led in part by the Wyandot County Office of Economic Development, has released two analyses taking a deep dive into the downtown market areas of Wyandot County’s two largest municipalities, the City of Upper Sandusky and Village of Carey.

The downtown market analysis were created through a combination of efforts from the WIN and municipal stakeholders.  These project teams derived what was considered the “downtown” area in each community, the market geography for the area, and conducted physical community assessment tours noting various items in the downtown geographies.

The assessment tour data was then combined with data mined from various sources to glean further insight and narration of the strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for the downtown areas.  Community stakeholders also helped to identify ongoing strategies that could help to sustain and invigorate activity in the downtown areas for the future.
